About The Book

The idea of a perfect summer for an indoors lover like Gregory Heffley is to watch TV, play video games and chill. But on the other hand, Greg's mother Susan, believes that summer vacations must be spent with outdoor activities and family togetherness. So Greg is forced to move outdoors and he joins the country club with his best friend Rowley.

Greg and Rowley end up spending a huge amount of money on fruit smoothies which they thought were complementary, at the country club. To... pay off the debt, they start a V.I.P Lawn Service, which turns the whole situation into a huge fiasco.

The Heffley family gets a pet dog Sweetie which creates a lot of problems for Greg and his idea of a perfect summer. Meanwhile, Greg deals with other tensions when he feels that his father might sell him off to an orphanage. His summer turns into a roller coaster ride unlike a peaceful one which he wanted. Various hilarious incidents and the super funny illustrations supporting these incidents make Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days a fun read.
