The Faceless One (Skulduggery Pleasant) is an English children's adventure mystery novel. The third novel of the Skulduggery Pleasant series, this book is a continuation of the second novel and revolves around Skulduggery Pleasant, an undead detective and his assistant, Valkyrie Cain, a fourteen - year old teenager in this book, Skulduggery and Valkyrie are looking into the mystery of the teleporter murders. They discover that the mysterious deaths of 4 teleporters are strangely linked to a tele...porter death that happened 50 years ago.

On talking to the Sea Hag, they learn that the death of the forgotten teleporter was the deed of Batu, the head of Diablerie. on going further into the investigation, with the help of China Sorrow, they discover that Batu, through one of his soldiers, Billy - Ray Sanguine, is attempting to abduct a young teleporter. Batu plans to use him with the Isthmus Anchor plan to open the gate portal for the faceless ones to enter earth. Skulduggery and Valkyrie also discover that the Grotesquery is, in reality, the Isthmus Anchor. With the help of Finbar, a Sensitive and a Necromancer, Solomon Wreath, the two detectives attempt to steal the Grotesquery. But danger strikes when Skulduggery and Valkyrie are attacked by Remus Crux and the Diablerie take the Grotesquery and frame the two detectives. Somehow, Skulduggery and Valkyrie escape in order to avoid being captured by the Sanctuary. The detectives must now find a way to retrieve the Grotesquery, save the young teleporter and prevent the Diablerie's scheme to open the portal for the faceless one. This edition of the Faceless One (Skulduggery Pleasant) was published in paperback by UK Children's in 2011.
