Born on the 11th of February, 1917, Sidney Sheldon was a renowned author from the United States.

Apart from this book, Sheldon has published a number of other novels which include Are You Afraid Of The Dark? (2004), The Doomsday Conspiracy (1991), A Stranger In the Mirror (1976), and The Other Side Of Midnight (1973).

Sheldon was born in Chicago, Illinois, and he attended Denver East High School. During the Great Depression, he sold his first poem for five dollars. Sheldon later went on to study at Northwestern University. Through the course of his literary career, Sheldon had published 18 books, which have sold 300 million plus copies across the globe. He had also been awarded a few times for writing screenplays and novels. Sheldon was married thrice, first to Jane Kaufman Harding, then to Jorja Curtright for thirty years till she died of a heart attack, and lastly to Alexandra Kostoff in the year 1989. He has a daughter from his second marriage, Mary Sheldon. She is also a novelist. He passed away on the 30th of January 2007, due to severe pneumonia.
