PROFESSOR ARUN KUMAR DUTTA, DSc, was an eminent teacher in physics and a distinguished research scientist. Administrative services could not attract him and he preferred teaching as a career and research as a profession. His research works were mainly on molecular spectroscopy, ultrasonics and nuclear physics.
