Garrison Keillor, byname of Gary Edward Keillor, (born August 7, 1942, Anoka, Minnesota, U.S.), American radio entertainer and writer who was perhaps best known for the public-radio show A Prairie Home Companion. Keillor began writing for The New Yorker in college and worked as a staff writer there until 1992.
