Indu Balachandran had a 30-year career in advertising, before switching to travel writing. She has published articles in Travel Plus, The Lonely Planet, iDiva, The Sunday Times and reviewed seventy eco- friendly destinations all over India for Travel to Care. Her writings have featured in five anthologies of short stories. She lives in Chennai. The Writers' Retreat is her second novel.
