This book is about the story of lacy Farrel, a real state agent in New York, when she was assigned a new client for selling a house, Isabelle Waring. She never wanted to sell that house before, because the real owner of the house Heather Landi, Isabelle's daughter, died in a car accident in the past year, and she knew that it wasn't just because of it, it was a murderer. But Jimy Landi, her father and Isabelle's ex housband, were triying to move on.

So Lacy started to see the potential buyers t...o the house. And the night before she had to meet with That potential buyer, Cutis Caldwell, Isabelle called her to tell her that she had evidence that it was a murder. But Lacy was to tired to talk by phone, so they agreed to talk in the morning. And when she went to talk to her ant the apartment, she heard a gun shot, and saw Curtis Caldwell runnig out with a journal in his hands. Isabelle was on a bed bleading, and the only thing she said to her, has to give this to Jimy Landi. Just to him. It was some pages that she had tooked from the journal.

With the police she finded out that Curtis real name, was Sandy Savarano, and he was a well known hit man. After all, she make a copy of the pages of the journal to herself, another for Jimy, and the real one to the police. Because she knew that Sandy was looking for her to kill her, she went to Minneapolis with a witness protection program, and not even her mother knew were was she ; There she made her self known as Alice Carrol, and started a hole knew life there. She went ocacionally to a gym, were she met Tom Linch, which awsomely knew Heather Landi. She wanted to know about her, so he told Alice that once he saw Heather on vacation, and she wasn;t happy because she view Rick Parker, Alice's boss.

Once, talking with her mother, she couldnt resist, and told her that she was leavig in Minneapolis, but that she can't tell nobody. But somehow, Sandy Savarano finded out, and went all over there to kill Alice-Lacey. He took the alias of Alice's father, and he asked for her "daugther" telling that her mom was very sick. When he want to the gym askin for her, Tom called her to tell her about him. So she took the journal, and hurry to New York, besides she loved Tom.

Because she was nervous, she asked the owner of the aparments, Tim Powers if she could stay on Heather's apartment. There, reading the journal, she realized another name she didn't knew. Max Hoffman. On the journal it said that he was an old fiend, and once they had lunch together, and 2 day later, they both were killed. So she went to see Max's widow. They where talkin, when they heard something upstairs, aand they went quiet. After that Sandy Savarano was there and tried to killed them, but Aice threw a paper weight on him, so he dropped the gun.

The police entered before he took the gun again, and they could finaly lock him. But the police knew he was a hit man, so Who was telling him to kill? Mrs. Hoffman had seen the man that was with Heather on Her vacation, and that was the one that make Curtis to kill. But she had to see him to identify him. So they all went to Jimy's house to ask him about Heather and if she have had any relation with someone. So he called Steve Abbott, his partner that helped him in the restauant and in all the stuff of the job. And when he arrived, Mrs. Hoffman said that he was the one that was with Heather.

Everybody were astonished because he had cheated on him all those years. And they realized that Heather finded out by Max that he was a thief, so the only way that Jimy wouldn't find out that, was to kill them

So she called Tom Lynch to tell him the real story, and everybody could say her again Lacy Farrel.
